Abraham and Mary Lincoln: the Long and the Short of It

"Abraham and Mary Lincoln: the Long and the Short of It" tells the story of the distinctly different paths that led them each to Springfield, Illinois, where they met, married and began a family. The years that followed their move to the White House were filled with personal and national crises. The presentation for the Sanbornton Historical Society takes place after Lincoln's death, with Mary mourning the loss of her husband and is geared to an audience of adults and older students.  More information is available at http://his-story.atspace.com.

Steve and Sharon Wood, Claremont, New Hampshire, have been researching and portraying the Lincolns since 1995. They are members of the Association of Lincoln Presenters (ALP) and were awarded the organization's Glenn Schnizlein Memorial Award for the Best Abraham and Mary Lincoln Team for both 2003 and 2006. Steve took 2nd place in the Lincoln Look-Alike Contest held in Hodgenville, Kentucky in 2000. Sharon is currently serving as chair of the ALP's Mary Todd Lincoln committee.
